In LF-13.3: Data-Driven Decision Making, we look at how AI can support leaders by organizing information, identifying trends, surfacing insights, and helping reduce blind spots. AI can process large amounts of data quickly. It can summarize feedback, compare information, highlight inconsistencies, and help leaders ask better questions before making a decision.

But AI does not replace leadership judgment.

A strong leader does not hand over decision-making to a tool. A strong leader uses AI as support. AI can provide analysis, but the leader provides context. AI can show patterns, but the leader understands people. AI can generate recommendations, but the leader remains accountable for the final decision.

That balance is the focus of this segment.

Learners will explore how to combine data, experience, and human judgment to make more informed decisions. They will examine the difference between using AI to support decision-making and relying on AI to make decisions for them. They will also consider how to question AI-generated insights, look for missing context, and stay aware of bias, assumptions, and limitations.

The goal is not to remove instinct from leadership. The goal is to strengthen it.

When leaders have better information, clearer patterns, and more structured thinking, they are better equipped to make decisions with confidence. AI can help leaders slow down the right parts of the process, pressure-test their assumptions, and see things they may have missed.

In an AI-enabled work environment, the best decisions will not come from data alone. They will come from leaders who know how to use data wisely, think critically, and stay accountable for the choices they make.
