Jeffrey Gruetzmacher is a retired Navy captain who served 30 years in the U.S. Navy. He served as the Commanding Officer and Professor of Naval Science of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps unit at Rice University in Houston, TX. He also served as the Operations Officer for U.S. Naval Air Forces, Atlantic where he was responsible for all training and deployment of all U.S. Navy aviation assets on the east coast. As the Chief of Staff for Operations for Carrier Strike Group Two, he coordinated all operations of 6 naval ships and 80 aircraft while deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. He served as the Air Boss for the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, directing all aircraft carrier flight operations during combat operations in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Jeffrey also commanded an Electronic Attack squadron, VAQ-137 during a combat deployment to the Persian Gulf.
