Matt “Kaz” Kaslik brings a wealth of experience leading high-impact organizations and has a passion for building and leading cross functional teams. He joined CAVU after retiring as a Commander in the United States Navy and subsequently spending four and a half years in the Aerospace Industry as an International Business Development leader selling military jets to coalition partners in Europe. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Oceanography and was a three-year letterman as a linebacker on the varsity football team. He later earned a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma. His 25-year career in the U.S. Navy included tours in the Electronic Attack community flying as a Naval Flight Officer in the EA-6B Prowler. He was selected to serve as an Exchange Weapons Systems Officer flying with the German Air Force out of Bavaria in the Electronic Combat Reconnaissance (ECR) Tornado. He has accumulated over 2,230 flight hours and over 530 carrier arrested landings.
He led in several staff roles including Deputy Division Lead for the Defense Information Systems Agency out of Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i and as a Deputy Air Officer in charge of 650 personnel on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier charged with the safe launch and recovery of 75 plus tactical aircraft. He also earned his Fleet Officer of the Deck qualification while serving on the Bridge Team on an aircraft carrier and served as the Military Deputy Director of Athletics and Instructor of Ethics at the U.S. Naval Academy. Kaz concluded his Navy career as the Executive Officer of the “Blue Angels” leading 130 elite professionals from the Navy and Marine Corps.
