Rick is a retired US Navy Captain who brings over 40 years of experience in leadership and management in environments where exacting performance in operations and safety are a must. During his 30-year career as a nuclear submarine officer he served on six submarines and commanding two. His shore duty and staff assignments include college at Kansas University where he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, major staff assignments in Naples, Italy and London, UK and as the U.S. Naval Attaché, U.S. Embassy, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Following his military retirement he worked as a consultant assessing US and foreign governments compliance with international treaties and CEO of a multi-national salt water pearl company. Rick brings a wealth of Leadership, Operations and Safety coaching experience. Since 2013 he excelled as a consultant for high-risk industries across the globe. A major highlight was as Project Manager overseeing Operational Excellence, Compliance and HES coaching for a $4.9M ExxonMobil drilling contract in Indonesia which received the ExxonMobil President’s award as the top global program in both operations and safety. He co-authored a professional paper detailing this success “ The Right Stuff: Mitigating Human Factors - The Application of Crew Resource Management in Banyu Urip Drilling Operations ” which was published by the Society of Petroleum Engineers and presented at their 2016 conference in Perth, Australia.
