Will “Toast” Burney is a retired U.S. Navy Commander with a background flying in the back seat of mainly F-14 Tomcats and F/A-18 Super Hornets. He is a graduate of the Naval Academy, the Naval War College, the prestigious Navy Fighter Weapons School (a.k.a. TOPGUN), the Marine Corps’ Aviation Weapons and Tactics Instructor course, and the Naval Postgraduate School’s Aviation Safety Officer and Operational Risk Management Instructor courses. His operational experience included multiple deployments aboard aircraft carriers embarking from both the East and West coasts and involved numerous combat missions over both Iraq and Bosnia. He also had the distinct honor of serving two tours of duty as an instructor at TOPGUN, where he finished up his military career as its commander. In the decade-plus since his retirement, Will has expanded his horizons gaining experience in multiple industries including the government, defense, aviation, agriculture and energy sectors.
